When I Found Out:
In 1991. I thought my life was over, but that was 16 years ago, so looking back I'm happy to have so much life to live and give.
How I was infected:
I got tested, was negative, then a few months later, got warned by my partner and became infected.
The biggest challenge I deal with living with HIV:
Deciding it wasn't a death sentence.
What I've learned from living with HIV:
Listen to your body. Treat it right. Take the time to enjoy life.
Who I thought HIV affected before I learned I was positive:
Unsafe sex between gay guys. Now I think anyone can get it.
What I want to tell young people who say HIV can't happen to them:
Be safe. Be smart - "Get tested, Get treated, Get tough on HIV!"
