When I Found Out:
December 12, 2005. If it could happen to me, it could happen to anyone.
The biggest challenge I deal with living with HIV:
Dealing with people's reactions. People at times will treat you like you are toxic and disgusting.
What I've learned from living with HIV:
Life truly is short and should be lived to the fullest everyday.
What I think is the biggest difference between people's perceptions and the reality of living with HIV:
People perceive that HIV is a death sentence when you can live a normal healthy life with simple life changes.
Who I thought HIV affected before I learned I was positive:
Drug-using gay men. Now I believe everyone is at risk.
What I want someone who is HIV negative to know about me:
That my being positive has affected much more than me. It has affected my family and friends and does interfere with my social life and me dating someone.
